Ironman 2025 in Erkner: Family festival with fun for young and old!
Action and fun are ahead, because on September 13th and 14th, 2025 Erkner will be the venue for the popular Ironman 70.3. Around 3,000 athletes from 72 nations have registered and will compete against each other in the Erich Ring Stadium on the picturesque Dämeritzsee. A highlight for sports enthusiasts and families alike - because this event offers more than just competition.
The big family festival promises an experience for young and old. With around 20 bouncy castles, a 45 meter long obstacle course, a giant slide as well as a pirate ship and a wobble mountain, there is plenty of entertainment. Mini golf and giant Lego round off the offer. Skill games, bouncy horse races, tap sockers and slacklining provide additional fun and action. The event day begins on Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and continues on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., so that every family member gets their money's worth.
Diverse food offerings
As befits a festival, physical well-being is not left behind either. Visitors can look forward to a colorful selection of dishes: ice cream, slush, fries, burgers and bratwurst are available from 4 euros. No stomach will be left empty!
But this much fun also comes at a price: traffic delays and road closures are to be expected on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents and visitors should be prepared to experience the area a little differently from the weekend onwards - not only because of the bulky cars, but also because of the fantastic atmosphere that such an event brings with it.
Ironman in the focus of the sports world
Ironman races are enjoying growing popularity throughout Germany. Two important competitions are already scheduled for 2024: the IRONMAN European Championship in Hamburg on June 2nd and the Mainova IRONMAN European Championship in Frankfurt on August 18th. These competitions are known for their fast route and the special atmosphere that attracts athletes and spectators to the vibrant city centers. The competition in Erkner will also be a highlight in the Ironman calendar.
Whether young or old, amateur or professional - the Ironman has developed into a lifestyle that attracts athletes of all abilities. The principle of the Ironman is simple: Anyone can take part, but only those who have stamina and discipline will master the challenge. The first Ironman took place in Hawaii in 1978 and has since become the largest endurance event in the world.
The Ironman in Erkner fits seamlessly into this awe-inspiring series of events. The event is supported by, among others, Sparkasse Oder-Spree and other partners who work together to ensure a great experience for everyone involved.
So, let’s go to Erkner! Be there when the Ironman 70.3 comes back to our region and experience unforgettable moments on and in the water, on the bike routes and in the finish area!
