On June 21, 2025, an extremely frightening incident occurred in the Spartakusring in Frankfurt (Oder) in which a 49-year-old man committed several crimes. Loud Moz.de It all started around 5:15 p.m. when the man smashed the window of a parked vehicle with his fist. The 57-year-old woman and her eleven-month-old grandchild were in this vehicle. The brutal blow shattered the car window and the incident took a threatening turn.
After this aggressive act, the man let his anger out and continued to insult the woman's two daughters, aged 21 and 23. Nothing is known about a possible previous relationship between the perpetrator and the victim. Concerned passers-by called the police, but the accused refused to be reassured by the emergency services. He continued to behave aggressively and insulted the officers.
Further acts of violence in Frankfurt (Oder)
But this incident is not the only one that has recently concerned the police in Frankfurt (Oder). Already on February 16, 2025, a 34-year-old man was attacked in his apartment on Prager Strasse by a 49-year-old German citizen Niederlausitz Current reported. The injured man required serious head treatment and was taken to hospital. In connection with this incident, another 23-year-old German suspect was identified, whose apartment was searched - evidence was seized and the public prosecutor's office is examining whether an arrest warrant will be issued.

Increasing violent crime in Germany
These incidents highlight the increasing violent crime in Germany. According to the current Police crime statistics 2024 Violent crime rose overall by 1.5% to over 217,000 cases. This is the highest level since 2007. The police have also recorded an increase of 11.3% in suspected children and 3.8% in young people. Although overall crime in Germany has fallen by 1.7%, violence remains a serious issue that needs to be addressed.
While the investigations in Frankfurt (Oder) continue, it is hoped that the security situation in the city remains stable and such incidents can be prevented in the future.
