The heat transition in Brandenburg ensures a fresh wind in the municipalities, and Rüdersdorf in the Märkisch-Oderland district takes a crucial step here. With the aim of ensuring heat supply without fossil fuels by 2045, a comprehensive heat plan is created in the municipality. 95% of the heat is currently generated there with natural gas. Overall, a third of the Brandenburg municipalities have started with their heat planning, which is below the nationwide average. Brandenburg can still boast with the largest number of heat planning in the east. Five municipalities, including Premnitz and Oranienburg, have already successfully completed their plans. For municipalities with less than 100,000 inhabitants, a deadline applies until June 30, 2028, while Potsdam has time until June 30, 2026.
