Numerous police operations: thefts and arson in Märkisch-Oderland
The last few days have caused excitement in the Märkisch-Oderland region. Police are currently investigating several cases of theft and arson that are causing unrest in the affected communities.
The raids of the last days
In Neuenhagen b. A brazen thief has struck Berlin - in two senses. A boat and trailer were stolen there on October 29, 2025 on Unter den Ulmen Street. The estimated damage is over 30,000 euros. The criminal police have started an investigation in order to quickly catch the perpetrator. But that wasn't everything! In Rüdersdorf b. Berlin and Seelow crooks also escaped with two vehicles: A Renault Master, parked on Heinitzstrasse, was stolen and caused a loss of around 40,000 euros. Another Renault Megane, which was parked on October 28th, also disappeared the next day. The search for both vehicles is in full swing in order to track down the lost treasures.
Arson in Hoppegarten
In addition to the thefts, a VW was set on fire on Carenaallee in Hoppegarten late in the evening of October 29, 2025. The fire brigade was able to quickly extinguish the fire, but property damage amounted to around 2,000 euros. Detectives are now investigating suspected arson and are trying to clarify the background to the incident.
Another burning issue
But the fire brigade was not only on duty in Märkisch-Oderland. A suspected arson attack on a public building was discovered in Treuenbrietzen on Wednesday morning. An employee saw burning objects in the entrance area of a basement entrance. The fire damaged the facade with soot, but fortunately it did not spread. The fire went out independently, but there was also material damage of around 500 euros. The police have already filed a criminal complaint and are working on securing evidence. The criminal police are now continuing their investigations.
