Traffic chaos in Berlin: Defective signal box stops S-Bahn lines!

Hoppegarten, Deutschland - In Berlin there are currently considerable restrictions on S-Bahn traffic, which are due to a defective signal box at the Friedrichstrasse stop. As the FAZ , the lines S3, S7, S75 and S9 are directly affected. Deutsche Bahn has confirmed that the exact defect is still unknown and the duration of the restrictions therefore remains unclear. For the S3, this means that they only run between Erkner and Warschauer Straße with larger intervals. The S5 is also limited and only drives between Strausberg Nord/Hoppegarten and Ostbahnhof. From July 2024 there are extensive construction work in Berlin, which will primarily affect the east-west connection.
