Preschool children from Uckermark rock the stadium at the sports festival!
The bright colors of the sports festival stickers and the happy laughter of the children filled the Templin Stadium last Saturday. Preschool children from six different daycare centers came together to show off their talents at a lively sports festival. Again Northern Courier reported, the event was the third of its kind, organized by the district sports youth.
Mayor Christian Hartphiel and department head Annette Nitschmann expressed the wish to make the event an integral part of the Templin event calendar in the coming years. This shows that promoting exercise and sport is also very important in childhood.
Sporting highlights and awards
A very special moment was the awarding of the “Movement Daycare” seal of quality. The “Käthe Kollwitz” daycare center in Templin was the first facility to be awarded this seal of quality. Adam Eager from the Brandenburg Sports Youth presented the daycare center with the plaque and a present. There are a total of 30 such exercise daycare centers in Brandenburg, five of them in the Uckermark district. In addition, the Milmersdorf daycare center “Anne Frank” received recertification of the seal of quality, which the mayor Elke Grabowski also congratulated.
What makes a daycare center a “movement daycare center”? As the Sports youth Brandenburg explains, criteria such as educational quality, an exercise-friendly spatial concept and a wide range of exercise options are crucial. Of course, facilities must also be open to the outside to encourage outdoor play.
Variety of sports stations
As already mentioned, the daycare centers “Egelpfuhlfrösche”, Waldhofkita and “Spatzennest” (all Templin) as well as the “Whirlwind” daycare center from Storkow took part in the festival. The children were able to let off steam at a total of six stations, four of which were part of the daycare Olympics “Always on the move with Fritzi”. Skill and team spirit were required here: throwing a ball at the target, jumping over a rope to the side, jumping into a hoop and running in a loop challenged the young talents.
The highlight of the sports festival was the final relay, in which parents and grandparents cheered hard. Students from the Templin High School took on the role of judges and ensured a fair competition. At the end, all participating children received a medal, which was proudly presented by smiling faces.
The path to more exercise in daycare centers
The district sports youth have made remarkable progress in the area of exercise in the Uckermark in recent years. The event emphasized the importance of suitable spaces for promoting physical activity. Like on the side of the German sports youth is carried out, the size and equipment of the rooms are crucial for the children's activities. A sufficiently large outdoor area, supplemented by technical equipment and natural elements, can stimulate children's curiosity and urge to move.
The initiative to improve exercise offerings in daycare centers shows that you need more than just large halls - even the smallest elements that take everyday movements into account are crucial. Preparations for the next Kita Cup are already underway and the children can look forward to new challenges in the area of exercise.
These colorful and sporty encounters between the daycare centers not only bring fun and joy, but above all promote an active lifestyle that strengthens children for the future.
