The bright colors of the sports festival stickers and the happy laughter of the children fulfilled the Templin stadium last Saturday. Pre -school children from six different daycare centers came together to show their talents at a lively sports festival. As the Nordkurier , the event was already the third of its kind, organized by the district sports youth.

Mayor Christian Hartphiel and the department head Annette Nitschmann expressed the wish to make the event an integral part of the Templin event calendar in the coming years. This shows that the promotion of exercise and sport is also very popular in childhood.

A very special moment was the award of the "Movement daycare" seal. The daycare center "Käthe Kollwitz" in Templin was the first facility with this seal of approval. Adam Eager from the Brandenburg Sports Youth presented the badge and a present to the daycare center. There are a total of 30 such movement daycare centers in Brandenburg, five of them in the Uckermark district. In addition, the Milmersdorf daycare center "Anne Frank" received the recertification of the seal of approval, which the mayor Elke Grabowski also congratulated.

What makes a daycare center a "movement daycare center"? As the Sportjugend Brandenburg , criteria such as pedagogical quality, a movement-friendly room concept and a wide range of movements are crucial. Of course, facilities must also be open to the outside world so that playing outdoors is promoted.

As already mentioned, the daycare centers took part in the facilities "Egelpfuhfrösche", Waldhofkita and "Spatzennest" (all templin) and the daycare center from Storkow in the festival. The children could let off steam at a total of six stations, four of which were "always on the move with Fritzi". Here skill and team spirit were asked: ball destination, skipping a rope on the side, jumping into a tire and the sewing riot challenged the small talents.

The highlight of the sports festival formed the final relay, in which parents and grandparents cheerfully cheered on. Pupils of the Templin high school took on the role of the judges and ensured a fair competition. In the end, all participating children received a medal that was proudly presented by radiant faces.

At the event it was emphasized how important suitable rooms are for promotion of movement. Preparations for the next daycare cup are already underway, and the children can be excited about new challenges in the field of movement.
