Experience dance for clean water: Water in Motion in Templin!

Prenzlauer Allee 28, 17268 Templin, Deutschland - On June 14th, the Uckermark becomes the scene of a special artistic campaign that is all about water. Under the title "Water in Motion", the historical environment of the Joachimsthal Gymnasium in Templin is transformed into a lively stage for dance and creativity. On this day, over 200 events take place worldwide that address the protection of water and access to clean drinking water. The Nordkurier reports that the event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and include numerous local and international artists, including professional dancers and choreographers is.

The event is organized by the association Umanz e.V., Yeri Anarika Danceworks and the foundation of the listed high school. The performances include a creative program with performances, short films and even flash mobs, in which members of the Umtanz dance community become active. The artists Silke Schmidt and Sissi Zaccardelli will also contribute to the design of the program. The common water flash mob on the boathouse, which forms the highlight of the event and is connected live with groups worldwide, becomes exciting.

Invitation to participate

All interested parties are cordially invited to actively shape them or to participate as a spectator. The tour of the performance not only offers insights into creative processes, but also the possibility of exchange and spontaneous participation. The meeting point is at 10 a.m. at the main entrance of the Joachimsthal High School in Prenzlauer Allee 28.

Global Water Dances, an international initiative that has existed since 2011, uses dance as a universal language to draw attention to the important questions of water access and water supply. As Core dance , the initiative sees itself as a platform that encourages choreographers and dancers to sensitize the global community for water problems through their art. Another remarkable project from this initiative is the film "Body of Water", which was created by Sue Schroeder and Christian Meyer and was shot at a water temperature of 10 ° C in the Stessensee in Berlin.

The problem of water quality

The topic of the water topic is also of great importance in urban areas such as Berlin, where eutrophication, algae growth and damage to the oxygen household causes great concerns through sewage treatment plants. Therefore, the performances at Global Water Dances not only draw attention to the beauty of the water, but also to the pressing problems associated with it.

The activities related to "Water in Motion" therefore offer an ideal opportunity to work for the resource of water and to actively participate in the design of an environmentally conscious and lively culture. Be there when people come together in the heart of the Uckermark from different parts of the world to dance and demonstrate together for the protection of water.

More information about the global actions can be found on the website of Global Water Dances . Let us support the common use for clean water - through movement, air and music!
