Young people in Templin win over 10,000 euros for their ideas!

Things will get exciting in the tranquil town of Templin next Monday, November 10th. From 4 p.m., the Hyparschale at the Bürgergarten will be transformed into a place where young people can raise their voices and actively participate in shaping their surroundings. The event, organized by Jacob Schnaak, the representative for children and youth participation, has the motto “Make up your mind!”. Participants have the opportunity to vote on various proposals for the 2026 children and youth budget.

An impressive 10,000 euros are earmarked in the city's budget every year for the ideas of kids and young people. This year there are nine promising proposals to choose from, all of which aim to enrich the lives of young people in Templin. In addition to this important vote, the new youth advisory board will also be elected for the 2026/2027 term. This consists of seven members who see themselves as the mouthpiece of the young people in the city and represent their interests.

Voice of the young people

The youth advisory board not only offers its members the opportunity to implement their own projects, but also to gain valuable experience in teamwork, communication and political responsibility. “Young people are the voice of the future in Templin,” says Jacob Schnaak, describing the role of the advisory board. The members also have regular meetings with the mayor and city council, which not only allows insights into political work, but also offers the opportunity to have a direct influence.

A special highlight of the event is offered during the break: free pizza! This is not only intended to satisfy hunger, but also to loosen up the atmosphere and help ensure that as many young people as possible come and take part - regardless of whether they want to run or simply vote. Schnaak also encourages adults in Templin to motivate their children and young people to take part. The more young people contribute their ideas and opinions, the more lively coexistence in the city becomes.

Registration and participation

The event is an important step towards promoting the participation of young people and strengthening the community in Templin. However, the call to participate does not only apply to young people. Adults are also asked to encourage their children to become active. The opportunities for engagement and participation are great, and every euro spent on young people's ideas can make a big difference.

In summary: The event on November 10th is an excellent opportunity for Templin's youth to become active and help shape their surroundings. What could be more important than deciding together on the next steps for a vibrant community?
