Pensioner captures spectacular sparrowhawk attack on camera!

In the Uckermark, a sprightly pensioner captured an extraordinary natural spectacle from her kitchen window. Heiderose Richter, who is always on the go with her camera, recently took an impressive photo of a sparrowhawk dismembering its prey. This spontaneous photo not only shows her instinct for the right moment, but also the fascinating world of bird watching. The sparrowhawk, known for its quick surprise attacks, has not been listed as endangered for several years, but had to fight hard for its survival in the 20th century. Northern Courier reports this remarkable incident.

Heiderose is not only a nature lover, she also has a passion for events in her region. She recently photographed the carnival parade of the Brüssow Carnival Club and showed that she can also capture the events in a festive way. She had previously photographed a buzzard both in flight and perched on a branch, proving that she has a knack for wildlife photography.

Bird watching: An exciting field

Bird photography is an art in itself, and many photography enthusiasts, like Bonn-based photographer Simone Sperber, share this passion. She has been devoting herself to nature and animal photography since 2021 and took the step into self-employment in 2022. Her photos, including a dunnock from her garden, are intended to raise awareness for the protection of nature and animals. Digital photo reports that Simone always makes sure to use excellent image composition, suitable lighting and a successful background.

For them, a good animal photo not only has aesthetic value, but should also be characteristic and free of noise or overexposure. Simone has great ambitions to capture future photo subjects such as field hamsters and raccoons. Her photos are often taken spontaneously, hand-held and sometimes with just a few seconds to spare.

Nature photography courses

There is support for all those who also want to immerse themselves in the world of nature photography. The NATURE PHOTO SCHOOL offers online video courses that are intended to help both beginners and advanced users. The courses not only provide basic knowledge of camera technology, but also specific techniques such as macro photography and wildlife photography. It turns out that expensive equipment is not necessarily necessary to create impressive photographs. Rather, it depends on understanding and technology.

The different courses are structured according to the school system, so that anyone interested can choose the level that suits them best. Whether you want to learn the basics or take your skills to the next level, PHOTO SCHOOL offers something for every taste.
