Kita and daycare costs increase: As much as parents from 2026 have to pay!
Lychen, Deutschland - The city of Lychen plans to increase parental contributions for the care in their daycare centers and in the after -school care center. From January 2026, the monthly contribution for the "Inseldecker" daycare center for children under the age of three will increase from 267.35 euros to a whopping 393.64 euros. The after -school children also have to dig deeper into their pockets: their contribution increases from 113.85 euros to 199.06 euros. This is reported by the SVZ
The decision to adapt the fees was mostly taken by the city council. Treasurer Nadine Weidner explains that the high operating costs with a total expenditure of around 893,000 euros in 2024, which makes an increase of 250,000 euros compared to the previous year, are essential. The urban income from the parents' contributions is currently around 557,000 euros, which illustrates the need to increase.
calculation and staggering of the contributions
The parents were calculated based on the planned income and expenses for 2023. The actual costs of the current and next year also flow into the recalculation. According to the provisions of the Family portal NRW , it is the task of the local sponsor of public youth welfare, in this case the youth welfare office to define the contributions and to take social relief. To do this, various factors such as the annual income of the parents and the number of children in the family must be taken into account. With lower income, shorter care times or several children, the monthly contributions can be reduced.
The new maximum contributions apply to families with an annual net income from 55,000 euros and are set for the maximum childcare period: in the daycare center for over eight hours and in the after -school care center for four hours. It is important to note that children over three years are not affected by this increase. The regulation also stipulates that from August 2024 the daycare visit in Brandenburg is free of charge.
information for parents
parents who have questions about the new articles or their calculation should contact the responsible youth welfare office. A clear overview of the parents' contributions and their design is available on the websites of the respective municipalities or directly from the day care centers. The Kita NRW also offers information on social sacrificial and the criteria, which are to be observed when determining parental contributions, such as the number of children entitled to child benefit in the family and the daily Care time.
With these changes, lychen faces a major challenge. It remains to be seen how the parents will react to the new fees and what measures are taken on the part of the city to minimize the stress for families.
