Children conquer the cinemas: premiere of their fascinating short films!
What an exciting event in the Uckermark! Things will soon get really exciting, as children from the region will show their self-produced short films on the big screen. As part of the “Children Make Short Film” project run by the Berlin association “bilderbewegen”, primary schools in Schwedt, Templin, Angermünde and Lychen have had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of film for many years. The little filmmakers learn everything that goes into it: from the script and the selection of scenes to the camera and editing.
The motto for this year's edition is “Faith, love, hope – contemporary witnessing meets the present”. The four short films created tell unique stories that interweave the past and the personal present. Viewers can look forward to some exciting premieres that will take place at several locations in the Uckermark. The starting signal will be fired on January 26th at 10:30 a.m FilmforUM Swedt, on January 27th at 10 a.m. in Multicultural Center Templin, followed by the premiere in Old cinema Lychen on January 28th at 6 p.m. and the screening in the Old Angermünde brewery on January 29th at 10:30 a.m. Admission is free, and the performances include an exciting accompanying program.
Creative minds and their films
The films cover a wide range and show how creative the children are. For example, there is “Girlfriends on a Secret Mission – The Krazy Box”, a production by class 6a at the “Erich Kästner” primary school in Schwedt. Six friends discover a world full of future dreams from the past. Another contribution comes from class 5b at the Angermünde Pushkin School with the title “Um potato salad”, where Paula secretly eats the Christmas potato salad and her friends have to improvise to quickly prepare a new one. Class 6 of the Pannwitz primary school in Lychen is also bringing an enchanting piece about the memories of a 94-year-old Lychner to the screen with “With the mandolin through time”. Last but not least, in “Two Times: 1975 and 2025,” class 6b of the Templin Goethe Elementary School compares the homeward journey experiences of school children from two different time periods.
The project itself plays an important role because it is aimed at children in grades 4 to 6. It consists of three building blocks that enable a creative and practical approach to film production. The children develop film stories on changing topics and work in groups under professional guidance on a script, which then leads to production. VisionKino emphasizes that the small film crews are responsible for both the technical and creative aspects of film production.
The result of this dedicated work will soon be visible on the big screens in the Uckermark. Best of all, it's an experience for the whole family and a great opportunity to nurture and celebrate the creative talents of the next generation.
