Things will get exciting in Brüssow on July 12th when Charly Hübner presents his first book on the open-air stage by the lake. The reading begins at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m. Hübner, known to many as the former TV commissioner from “Polizeiruf 110 Rostock”, is not only an actor, but also a passionate author, reader and music lover. This event is all about topics such as origins, attitudes, books, bands and growing up in East Germany as well as the renowned writer Uwe Johnson. Loud Uckermark courier he reads from his work “If You Knew What I Know…”, in which his influence through Johnson’s novel “Anniversaries” is discussed.
What is striking is that Hübner discovered the book club edition of Johnson's “Anniversaries” entirely by chance. The complex language exerts a strong pull on him. In this work, Johnson combines a family saga from Mecklenburg with stories about New York, which Hübner finds particularly impressive.
