Kränzlin, Deutschland - Maik Horn, better known as "Trecker-Maik" from Kränzlin at Neuruppin, has made a very special trip: with a self-made tractor it goes to Mallorca! After a nine -day trip of around 2100 kilometers, he reached Barcelona on Wednesday and then crossed the ferry to Mallorca. There he arrived six days earlier than originally planned.

"Trecker-Maik" will celebrate his 50th birthday on the popular island in a few weeks, namely in early July-an ideal occasion to go on vacation and enjoy the time with his wife Dani and friends. The two are traveling together while Dani rides in a Wartburg 1.3. For Maik, the decision to travel with the tractor was a clear step: "I'm afraid of flying," he admits. With its ZT 323, equipped with 210 hp and even air conditioning, it feels safer on the streets.

A truly adventurous tour that he has been planning for 20 years! The more than 5000 kilometer route took him from Brandenburg via Barcelona to Mallorca. The trip is not only a personal adventure for Maik, but is also supported by friends and other tractor fans. With another tractor, a W 50, as well as a Barkas B1000 and a L60 truck, the group travels together to make the trip even more unforgettable. A sleeping car and spare parts for possible breakdowns are also on board to be equipped.

In order not to break the budget frame, the group plans to do without hotel accommodation. "We got great support from friends and companies," explains Maik. These helpers not only helped him financially, but also helped with useful spare parts for the tractor, which is particularly important in such an expedition.

After arrival, it is first important to rest and get the tractor up to scratch. Maik is already looking forward to a tour around the island and plans to visit the Megapark and the "Bierkönig", two of the most famous spots in Mallorca, which are known for their good atmosphere. "I can't wait to experience it all!" he comments enthusiastically.

The return trip is currently still unclear, since Maik and his companions find the Italian attitude to life and the Mallorcan sun too pleasant to make themselves back home.
