Trecker-Maik: With the tractor to the party in Mallorca!
Maik Horn, better known as “Trecker-Maik” from Kränzlin near Neuruppin, has planned a very special trip: he is going to Mallorca with a self-made tractor! After a nine-day journey of around 2,100 kilometers, he reached Barcelona on Wednesday and then took the ferry to Mallorca. He arrived there six days earlier than originally planned.
“Trecker-Maik” will be celebrating his 50th birthday on the popular island in a few weeks, at the beginning of July - an ideal occasion to take a vacation and enjoy time with his wife Dani and friends. The two are traveling together, while Dani is traveling in a Wartburg 1.3. For Maik, the decision to travel by tractor was a clear step: “I’m afraid of flying,” he admits. With his ZT 323, equipped with 210 hp and even air conditioning, he feels safer on the roads.
The journey and its companions
A truly adventurous tour that he has been planning for 20 years! The route, which was more than 5,000 kilometers long, took him from Brandenburg via Barcelona to Mallorca. The trip is not only a personal adventure for Maik, but is also supported by friends and other tractor fans. The group travels together with another tractor, a W 50, as well as a Barkas B1000 and an L60 truck to make the trip even more unforgettable. A sleeping car and spare parts for possible breakdowns are also on board to be prepared.
In order not to exceed the budget, the group plans to forego overnight hotel stays. “We received great support from friends and companies,” explains Maik. These helpers not only helped him financially, but also helped him with useful spare parts for the tractor, which is particularly important in such an expedition.
Planned activities on the island
After arriving, the first thing to do is to rest and get the tractor in shape. Maik is already looking forward to a tour around the island and is planning to visit the Megapark and the “Bierkönig”, two of the most famous spots in Mallorca that are known for their good atmosphere. “I can’t wait to experience it all!” he says enthusiastically.
The return journey is still unclear at the moment, as Maik and his companions find the Italian lifestyle and the Mallorcan sun too enjoyable to head straight back home.
It will be exciting to see how the journey develops further. Maik Horn impressively shows that you can also experience true adventures in unconventional ways. We wish him all the best for his upcoming birthday and an unforgettable time in Mallorca!
