With the tractor to Barcelona: Maik Horn's adventure begins!

Kränzlin, Deutschland - "Trecker-Maik" from Kränzlin, a small, personable place at Neuruppin, has put a real life dream into reality: with its self-made tractor, a ZT 323 with 210 hp, and a small but fine tour group, he breaks up to drive over 2,000 kilometers to Barcelona. From there it goes directly to Mallorca by ferry, where he celebrates its 50th birthday in early July. The anticipation is great - but the trip already has its challenges.

The group, consisting of a tractor, a van, a motorhome and an IFA W50 truck, has now reached the Spanish border significantly. There are only almost 100 kilometers to there. "It is going well," reports Maik, whose heart beats for tractors as well as for his wife Daniela, who accompanies him in a Wartburg 1.3 on this adventure trip. Unfortunately, after a breakdown in Bad Mergentheim, he had to be handed over to the ADAC - an oil loss made the onward journey impossible. Daniela has now been reoriented on the van, while the Wartburg is brought to Dabergotz, where spare parts are available. Nevertheless, Maik remains optimistic and continues his way to take the ferry to Mallorca on June 24th

Maik Horn, the trained beer brewer and truck driver, has been targeting this dream for 20 years. The trip has a deeper meaning for him because it combines his passion for technology with unforgettable moments. His wife Daniela is not only his companion, but also an important part of this adventure. With a tattoo of the logo of the VEB tractor work Schönebeck on the upper arm, Maik shows where his roots come from and what connection he has with the tractors.

On the way to Madrid, the group plans to get by without hotel accommodation to protect the wallet. Knowns, friends and local companies provide enormous support from money and material help. The collaboration not only makes the trip easier, but also a community experience that welds together.

The big birthday in Mallorca

For the return to Mallorca, Maik already has big plans: On a picturesque tour through the villages of Valldemossa, Esborlas and Puigpunyent, the group will enjoy the impressive landscape of the island. The goal is the Bodega Son Puig, where wine tastings and an excellent lunch are waiting for you. In addition, they should enjoy a demanding mountain ride with curves that leads to the Puig de Sant Salvador, from where they have an incredible view of the island.
