Fire brigade run in Hennigsdorf: Heroes quickly in full gear!

Last Saturday, June 21, 2025, the fifth fire brigade and track race took place on the OSZ sports field in Hennigsdorf. In midsummer temperatures that demanded a lot from the participants, a total of 392 runners took part. The event not only promised exciting competitions, but also a colorful supporting program that offered something for everyone.

The event not only integrated classic competition races such as the HandiCap Race and the Bambini Race, but also the 85 age group. There were medals and certificates for all participants. A highlight was the participation of fellow firefighters who completed the 20-minute fun run in full gear, including protective clothing and breathing apparatus - an impressive challenge!

Competitive time and outstanding performances

As in the previous year, this year's award was for the best organized event in the Brandenburg Cup series. In terms of the competition ranking, the runners were again able to collect points for the Brandenburg Cup and the EMB Cup. Fortunately, the fastest runner was Nico Semper from LG Oberhavel, who covered the route in a remarkable 16:00.14 minutes.

  • Schnellster Läufer: Nico Semper (LG Oberhavel) – 16:00,14 Minuten
  • 2. Platz: Marc Marquardt (LG Oberhavel) – 16:52,34 Minuten
  • 3. Platz: Stefan Grützmacher (VfL Brandenburg) – 16:55,50 Minuten
  • 4. Platz: Maximilian Wegert (LG Oberhavel) – 17:08,55 Minuten
  • Schnellste Läuferin: Britta Neie (SV Stahl) – 21:38,40 Minuten
  • 2. Platz Frauen: Kathrin Koczessa-Drößler (LG Oberhavel) – 22:16,93 Minuten
  • 3. Platz Frauen: Olha Nazarenko (LG Oberhavel) – 22:21,98 Minuten

A celebration for the whole family

But the fire brigade and track race was much more than a sporting event. The Hennigsdorf Volunteer Fire Department exhibited impressive emergency vehicles and offered spectators the opportunity to test out a fire brigade parkour, which was met with great interest by young and old. There was also a performance by various sports groups from the club, who thrilled the audience with their performances.

Physical well-being was also well taken care of. The Veltener Sportcasino 1420 provided a refreshing atmosphere with cool drinks, soft ice cream and grilled dishes, which rounded off the day and ensured a successful get-together.

The excellent planning and execution of the event, organized by the ORG team at the OSZ sports grounds on Berliner Straße, were consistently perceived positively by the participants and spectators. How on maz-online.de reported, LG Oberhavel secured second place in the Brandenburg Cup before the event, behind WSG Königs Wusterhausen.

All in all, a wonderful day in Hennigsdorf, which once again proved that the fire brigade and track race is much more than just a competition - it is a community celebration that inspires again and again every year. Also the constant improvements in communication and organization in firefighting sports, as seen on feusport.de described help to make such events even more successful.

See you soon at the next run!
