The price of € 10 (reduced € 6 for children, pupils, students and trainees) not only includes participation in the leadership, but also the daily entry for all exhibitions of the Storkow Castle.

This event is part of a very special theme week that illuminates the influence of the bike on the emancipation of women. On March 13, 2025, the special exhibition "Bicycle and Freedom" will be opened as part of the Storkower Frauenwoche. It addresses the role of bicycle in the liberation of female identity and self -determination. The departure for many women began in the late 19th century when cycling was created as a fashion trend - but not without resistance. This special exhibition shows how the bicycle gave women the opportunity to develop independence and to cover major distances without accompaniment. The upheaval in fashion to more practical clothing was another step towards equality.

cycling: a symbol of emancipation

The history of cycling was often a challenge for women and was perceived as a provocation in the social context. In the 19th century, cycling women were considered rebellious - they broke with the expectations of their gender and were often smiled at because of their physical exertion. With the introduction of the safety ripple wheel and practical cycling clothing in the 1890s, navigation on two wheels was able to prevail as socially acceptable for women. Thus, the bicycle was not only a means of transportation, but became a symbol of independence and self-confidence, such as cycling.de.

In this context, the adventure management, especially for young women and girls, becomes a valuable experience that illuminates the long history of the women's movement in connection with one of the most popular means of transportation. The bike was an important tool to create the prerequisites for more equality and at the same time expressed the desire for personal freedom. This not only impresses historians, but can also inspire the next generation to courageously advance.

The interactive elements of the tour enable the participants to become part of this encouraging story themselves. Do not miss this opportunity and experience on June 21, how cycling, independence and emancipation gives new dimensions.
