Potsdam gymnasts shine at Northeast German championships!
Last Saturday there was a lot going on in Potsdam! The northeast German championships of the girls took place in the university gymnasium at the Air Schiffhafen sports park, to which a total of 65 gymnasts from various clubs competed. The girls in the age groups 7, 8 and 9 competed against each other. The event was organized by the support association of the gymnastics school "Luftschiffhafen", which also ensured a smooth process, as SC Potsdam
Among the participating clubs were well -known teams such as the Berlin gymnastics, TSG Steglitz, TSC Strausberg and the HSG Uni Greifswald. A real spectacle that captivated the spectators and put the young talents on a large stage. The SC Potsdam was able to convince in numerous disciplines and won convincing placements in the respective age groups.

The SC Potsdam team shone, especially in the age group 7. Malia Sawyerr, was able to look forward to a silver medal in all -around and also took a first place on the jump device. The younger gymnasts from the AK 7 were also able to look forward to several medals, with Malia Sawyerr made first place at the jump and Emma Wagner was also able to shine when jumping. The atmosphere during the championships was literally electrifying and the cheering of families and coaches created a great atmosphere. Kathleen Friedrich, President of SC Potsdam, did not miss the opportunity to show her skills at the horizontal bar and to cheer on the young talents. Originally started as a gymnast, she has now developed as a model in athletics.
The Hanseturnverein Rostock emerged as the most successful gymnastics team and won 7 titles. The event also set standards in the individual area: Leni Borscheri from HTV Rostock was the most successful single gymnast and won several titles. Further podium places went to Alina Kaiser and other teammates who also performed impressive performance.
Overall, it was a successful highlight of the season that impressively demonstrated not only the skills of the gymnasts, but also the team spirit and the support of the club community. SC Potsdam and many other clubs can proudly look back on this day when the young athletes could shine.
