Bright harbor festival in Wildau: a festival for the whole family!
The 66th harbor festival in Wildau attracted numerous visitors last Saturday and gave the city a unique maritime experience. In bright sunshine and 28 degrees, the local water sports club not only celebrated the maritime heritage, but also the joy of water sports. The events took place on the site of the Wildau water sports club, where everything revolved around sailing and motor boats and model construction. The popularity of the "strong August" sailboat was unmistakable, because the visitors could not only take part, but also actively sail as part of the crew.
The organizers of the port festival draw a consistently positive balance. Association board member Frank Seidlitz spoke of gratitude about the high number of visitors and the support that the events received from the members of the club. "The harbor festival is our annual highlight in June," says Seidlitz. At the moment, the Wildau water sports club has 205 members and sees no urgent need for a member search. This should also be due to the varied program that was offered to the guests.
diverse attractions and offers
The program also included numerous attractions for small visitors, including bouncy castles and face painting. The culinary offer also left nothing to be desired: local dealers and craftsmen presented their products and offered a varied selection of food and drinks. The ice cream that was enjoyed by many guests on the hot day was particularly popular. In addition, the hands -on bus of the Berlin association "Line 94" showed creative games for children and provided additional entertainment.
- attractions such as police boat tour and demonstrations
- live music created the mood
- raffle with great win
A highlight was the show of the youth groups of the Lions-Cheerleading club from Königs Wusterhausen, which caused enthusiasm on the banks of the Dahme. The association's model building department gave an insight into the elaborate work that is behind the handmade miniatures. Günther Wiegand reported a high amount of time of up to 500 hours for loving handwork. Nevertheless, the association is fighting with the challenge of inspiring young people for model building, a problem that has been reinforced by the Corona pandemic.
an integral part of the region
The harbor festival has established itself as an integral part of the South Brandenburg event calendar. It not only celebrates the city's maritime culture, but also offers a platform for the local community to find and celebrate. Similar to the Tempelhofer Hafenfest , which takes place from June 30th to June 1, 2025, the Wildauer also attracts a number of people every year, as is shown, as Important events for the sense of community and the local identity.
The harbor festival in Wildau is a successful proof that a colorful and varied program appeals to all age groups and is a joyful experience for many. Even if the challenges in model making should not be underestimated, the hope remains that the coming years can get new talents on board.
