Seeland receives a new lifeboat: Security on Lake Concordia!

The fresh breeze of Lake Concordiagem brings change: the city of Seeland can soon look forward to a motorized lifeboat of the type class RTB 2. Mayor Robert Käsebier shows innovative action, who presents the versatile possible uses of the new boat. It will not only serve to save people from the water, but also to support fire fighting from the lake. This seems to be an important step at the moment, because so far the city has been dependent on its small paddle boat, which is clearly inadequate for the requirements on Lake Concordia.

Six firefighters have already acquired their boat leaders and the city will use further training opportunities in cooperation with the Wassersportverein and other fire departments. The lifeboat is to be delivered in just four to five months, which is then stationed in Schaadeleben. It is great to know that 40,000 euros of the total cost of 67,000 euros were financed by generous donations from local companies.

Effective fire fighting and other use scenarios

An additional advantage of this rescue boat is the targeted support for fire fighting, particularly relevant in view of the Rheinmetall am See test area, where there are often surface fires. If the call for an insert alarm, speed is often required. In practice, this means that water rescue is usually organized via the Salzland district, where another lifeboat in Aschersleben is stationed. But this point of contact takes up to two hours to get to the scene - just too long for many emergencies.

rescue boats, such as the new of the city, are indispensable resources that are manufactured according to clear standards. The boat used will correspond to the standards of DIN EN 1914 and is designed for use in flowing waters. These requirements are crucial to ensure optimal security and operating conditions, such as the fire brigade, where different types such as RTB 1 (for standing waters) and RTB 2 exist.

Various possible uses of watercraft

The possible uses of watercraft are enormous and continue to be in addition to the rescue of humans and animals. In this way, they also support in the evacuation of flooded areas or the rescue of material values. According to Feuerwehr-ub.de , official assistance operations for police and water rescue are also part of their tasks. The planned purchase of the new rescue boat comes at a perfect time and not only brings a breath of fresh air to local rescue services, but also a valuable additional security for the citizens of Seeland.

This step into the future shows that the city is on the right course to best protect both its citizens and nature around Concordiasee. Because as the saying goes: preventing is better than healing!
