Kablower triumph at the men's dance tournament: A celebration of creativity!

The city of Wildau experienced a truly foolish weekend when the “Royal Foolish Men’s Dance Tournament” of the Königs Wusterhausen carnival society took place in the Volkshaus on Saturday, January 17th. An hour before the start, the hall quickly filled with carnival-loving spectators who were looking forward to a colorful spectacle. Tickets for the 16th edition of the popular event sold out quickly.

Of course, Friedrich Wilhelm I (Olaf Müller) and his wife Sophie Dorothea (Elke Schiller) didn't miss the festival. Ten clubs took part in the competition, all of which showed a lot of enthusiasm and creative choreographies. Particularly noteworthy were the performances of the Babelsbergers, who swept the stage, and the Mittenwalders, who shone with sporting performances.

An exciting competition

The participating groups came up with all sorts of ideas. The Kablower (Alb) dream dancer was able to convince not only the audience but also the jury and ended up at the top of the podium. Second place went to the people of Beelitz, who impressed with a sporting theme, while the people of Blankenfeld presented themselves as vampires and thus also caused great amazement.

  • Kablower (Alb)-Traumtänzer – Platz 1
  • Beelitzer Carneval Club – Platz 2
  • Mittenwalder Karnevalsverein – weitere Platzierung
  • Berliner – Themen Jugendliebe
  • Babelsberger – vom Knast ins Abenteuerland
  • Blankenfelder – die Vampire

The atmosphere was characterized by cheerful shouting and infectious good humor. Even the participants were visibly satisfied, like John from the Beelitzer Guys, who had a beaming face despite coming in second. The audience's applause confirmed the actors' performances and testified to the high quality of the performances.

Support for the carnival

But great work is not only being done on the dance floor. The club also benefits from the support of the community. The association won a vote for the funding penny and is now allowed to accept all customer donations at the Penny Market in Wildau for a year. This includes actions such as “round up please” and unredeemed deposit vouchers. This momentum shows how important community and voluntary work are in the region.

An invitation to support the club's activities has been extended, and the members look forward to anyone who comes to the upcoming events and supports the carnival not only on the dance floor, but also outside of the competition.

The men's dance tournament in Wildau has once again proven that carnival is very popular in the region and brings people together. Ultimately, the fun and joy of celebrating together is what counts!
