City stimulates cycling: City bikes will soon start in Wusterhausen!

In Königs Wusterhausen, the city cycling is just around the corner! From June 21 to July 11, 2025, all citizens are invited to step into the pedals and celebrate cycling together. Anyone who lives, works, goes to school or belongs to a club can easily participate. The kilometers that are covered during this time are collected via the city cycling side or the app-whether on the way to work, on weekend trips or on vacation. This is not only fun, but also actively contributes to promoting cycling in the region, as the Nudafa reports.

On June 21, the city cycling is ceremoniously opened with an arrival in Lübben, which begins at 10:00 a.m. on the market square. The tour leads via Hartmannsdorf to Schlepzig and back - a total of about 30 kilometers on a flat route that is suitable for all age groups. All Königs Wusterhauseners are invited to cope with your own hometown.

competition and prices

As part of the city cycling, there will also be an exciting team competition. Participants can form in groups, be it with work colleagues, club mates or the family. The most active cyclists: Inside and teams are awarded great prices after the summer holidays, including the three most active cyclists, the best school class, the most cycling students: inside, the best senior and the most active team or the most cycling -active company. This not only provides an incentive, but also a lot of team spirit!

An important aspect of urban cycling in King Wusterhausen is the participation in the Nudafa project, which drives cycling promotion at an inter-municipal level. Supported by the Technical University of Wildau and the Technical University of Berlin, the project aims to research strategies to improve cycling in small and medium -sized municipalities. The partner municipalities, which also include Eichwalde, Zeuthen, Schulzendorf and Schönefeld, works together on a comprehensive cycling network, such as Nudafa.

The big goal in view

The city cycling fits in the more comprehensive strategy in Germany to become a bicycle country. With the national cycling plan 3.0 (NRVP 3.0), which is one of the most comprehensive in Europe, safe and attractive cycling infrastructures are to be created. The Federal Ministry of Transport promotes the construction of bike paths and offers municipalities support to strengthen cycling and happy cyclists: to promote inside, as the VDI reports. The implementation of these strategies is intended to make a significant contribution to the fact that the bicycle becomes omnipresent in both urban and rural areas.

The promotion of the Nudafa project continues until December 2025, and the municipalities hope for great progress in improving the cycle path network in the region. We are excited to see what the future brings and hope that many Königs Wusterhausener take the opportunity to actively participate in the city cycling!
