This important survey not only serves to protect the species, but also the monitoring of the orchid populations. According to bernau-live.de the boy herbs also bloom, also lovingly called "cuckoo flowers", at the same time with the first cuckoo call, which they can do for an Ökologology Valuable jewel in the region.

in Brandenburg you go through nature with open eyes, because here there are already some hybrid forms of the wide -leafed and stiff -leaf boy herb. But the view of the counts this year showed many small plants and specimens without flowers. This is attributed to a lack of water and the cold nights in May. However, there are also bright spots: more orchids have been spotted at some locations than in previous years.

In fact, it can take up to four years for an orchid to bloom for the first time. In addition, the conditions, such as regular mowing and the care of habitats, are crucial for their survival.

nature conservation and cooperation

The rangers of the Naturwacht Brandenburg have been active in 15 national natural landscapes since 1991 and do great for nature and environmental protection. With more than 500 guided tours a year, they sensitize the importance of the orchids and their habitats. They are supported by over 330 volunteers who work together for sustainable care. Deutschlands-natur.de emphasizes that the orchids in Germany are a popular plant family, which, however, continue to suffer from the loss and change of their habitats.

The cooperation between farmers, authorities and nature conservation associations shows that species protection really works. Biotop care measures, such as the targeted mowing of the meadows and the removal of trees, promote the prosperity of the orchids and help to absorb the existing decades of recent decades.

In the end, however, it remains important to watch the orchids in nature without taking them. If you want to experience the miracles of the orchids up close, you should simply admire the beauty of these plants and do not own!
