Spring cleaning is just around the corner in Bernau! FromMarch 23 to 27, 2026All citizens, school classes and clubs can bring their city into shape. Mayor André Stahl calls for active participation and thus sets an example for community commitment. The campaign takes place in the week before Palm Sunday and is organized by the construction depot and the city's infrastructure office. The initiator, Gordon Remany, ensures that those willing to clean up are specifically deployed in areas where there is a particular need. Everything necessary has already been put in place: the building yard will take care of the collection and disposal of the collected rubbish.
There is a special motivation for everyone who participates as a group of at least 20 people for a minimum period of two hours: each such group receives a one-time bonus of50 euros. Registrations are open until February 27, 2026 on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. by calling the telephone number03338 365-384possible. Spring cleaning as a community project
Spring cleaning in Bernau is more than just a tidying up operation; it promotes a sense of belonging and awareness of the environment. “We need the support of the entire population to show our city in the best light,” emphasizes Mayor Stahl. There have also been similar campaigns in the past in which citizens took an active part. A good example of this is the campaign in April 2025, in which numerous participants contributed with great enthusiasm to clearing the city of rubbish. At that time, groups were also motivated with a bonus of 50 euros, in line with this year's campaign.
In addition to spring cleaning, onJanuary 25 and February 22, 2025Care measures offered in the Schönower Heide. These are also organized by the city and take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Here too, everyone involved is warmly invited to take part. The city administration also recommends traveling by bike if possible in order to protect the environment even further and to contribute to your own fitness.
