Spremberg celebrates its anniversary and shines at the Cottbus craft fair!
Next week, Cottbus will become a showcase for craftsmanship when the 34th craft fair opens its doors on January 24th and 25th, 2026. The city of Spremberg, which is celebrating its 725th anniversary this year, is represented as a new regional partner with an eye-catching joint stand. The stand, which covers 108 square meters, can be found in Hall 2 and is numbered 2.20. Numerous municipal companies and regional craft businesses present themselves here and take the opportunity to present their services. Niederlausitz Current reports that participation is free for municipal companies and craft businesses this year, which should benefit many businesses.
The motto of the trade fair is “Trade fair meets market” and promises a wide range of offerings with over 150 exhibitors, including 81 craft businesses from 34 trades. From watchmakers to roofers to the IT and events industry, there is something for everyone. A special highlight is the focus on the topics of renovation, construction and real estate, which also explains the new area of the special show. Cottbus Daily emphasizes that this serves as a meeting point for people who want to renovate, are career starters or are simply interested in regional offerings.
Diverse supporting program
But the craft fair has even more to offer: In addition to the numerous exhibitors, visitors can expect an extensive supporting program. These include around 30 hands-on activities where visitors can get hands-on. Demonstrations and consultations are also on the agenda. Workshops on creative topics such as watercolor or woodwork and traditional demonstrations on flax processing or lace making round off the offering. A real attraction is created, especially on the upper floor, with an indoor test track for bicycles.
Another highlight of the trade fair is the “Young Generation Day”, which takes place on Saturday. Here, schoolchildren, trainees and students have the opportunity to visit the trade fair free of charge, try out tools and find out about career opportunities.
A look at the future
The craft fair is not only a platform for existing companies, but also offers space for new ideas and perspectives. “With this event we want to create a connection between crafts, the city and the future,” said a spokesman for the city of Spremberg. The motto “Trade fair meets market” reflects the aim of promoting and making visible the craft creativity and potential in the region. Messen.de also offers comprehensive information about the exhibitors and the trade fair's supporting program.
The ticket prices are also attractive: from 6 euros, visitors can purchase a day ticket that not only includes entry to the trade fair, but also a visit to the Spreeauenpark until the end of 2026. This makes the craft fair a worthwhile excursion destination for the entire family!
