International folklore festival in Drachhausen: Discover the diversity!

Drachhausen, Deutschland - The international folklore festival "łužicałužyca-lusatia" will be celebrated in the picturesque community of Drachhausen from June 26th to 29th, 2025. This colorful event promises an incomparable variety of music and dance and attracts visitors from near and far with its 15th edition. The spectacle is organized by Domowina - Bund Lausitzer Sorben e.V. , which are committed to promoting cultural ethnic groups and minorities.

The scene of the festivities is Drachhausen, where 14 groups from different countries, including Poland, Slovakia, Portugal, Romania, Colombia, Iran and Senegal, will present their skills. The performances take place in several charming places, including the churchyard, the parish meadow, the mountain castle and the Unger family. This gives the participants the opportunity to enjoy the local cuisine that is offered by the Schweella butcher shop, tendrous sausages, Plinsen from the village youth and modern creations by food truck.

Already on June 26, a preliminary program will be celebrated in Bautzen, in which a parade from Postplatz to the Kornmarkt leads. The ceremonial opening on the main stage of the German-Sorbian folk theater is also planned here. On Friday evening, the main stage in Drachhausen will open for the international folklore, whereby regional delicacies are served in the farms from 7 p.m.

The weekend has further highlights. On Saturday, Chrósćicy/Crostwitz is traditionally adorned. Here music, vocals and dance come together at historic farms. Culinary there will be an invitation to all guests to take part in the "Crostwitz Special", which offers an insight into the intangible cultural heritage and the market.
