Music will soon be happening in the beautiful city of Ludwigsfelde! Eight young bands and two talented singer-songwriters have qualified for the big state finals of the “Jugend musiziert” competition. This important event takes place as part of the popular Sound City Festivals takes place and promises a first-class music program. The competition opens on Saturday, June 17th at 9:30 a.m. on the rock stage at the train station, where an expert jury and the audience will jointly honor the skills of the young musicians.

A look at the participating groups shows that the variety of music is great. The band “Likable Weird” from the Teltow-Fläming district music school will score with a theatrical show, while the four bands from the Gebrüder Graun Elbe-Elster district music and art school will present a colorful program:

  • Sleepy Creeps: gute Laune und Leidenschaft für die Musik.
  • Risiko: ausschließlich eigenkomponierte Stücke.
  • Found Together: beliebte Coverversionen aus Rock und Pop.
  • Confused: eine junge Schülerband, die das Publikum mitreißt.

In addition, the band “Velvet Ember” from the Cottbus Conservatory will play German and English rock classics. Whether it's the rock songs from "The Backshift" or the rousing pop songs from "Schulausweis" - there's something for every musical taste here. From 5:00 p.m., viewers can look forward to performances by the singer-songwriters: Dylan Kuhlmann from the Havelland Music and Art School will present two of his own songs and a cover song, and Tabea Hassan from the Barnim Music School will bring five emotional original compositions.

An event for all music lovers

The guest appearance by singer-songwriting talents who are already with the Berliner will be particularly exciting “Youth make music” national competition were there. The singer-songwriter Pati will perform her own compositions and well-known cover songs. On Sunday afternoon, the audience can look forward to the youth rock band “Viasko”, who will enter the rock stage with their self-composed rock songs and harmonious three-part vocals.

The “Jugend musiziert” competition has been an excellent platform for young musicians and instrumentalists for many years and is considered the largest young talent competition in Germany. Participants have to prove themselves in three competition levels – the regional competition, the state level and the national competition. This year's national final will take place in Wuppertal and will attract participants from all over Germany who will show off their talent in front of an expert jury “Youth make music” not only promotes musical talent, but also the exchange between music-loving young people.
