Vintage car festival: Nostalgic scooters conquer Elbe-Elster!

Attention classic car fans! From June 20th to 22nd, 2025, the Elbe-Elster district will become a stage for nostalgia and tradition. Around 20 lovers of restored GDR scooters roll through the region and bring a piece of history with them. Destinations such as Finsterwalde and Crinitz are on the agenda, where a large family afternoon in the forest pool will particularly attract visitors. Marcus Schulze, who is organizing the event again, is looking forward to numerous guests.

The meeting, which is now taking place for the eighth time, is also celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. The idea for this comes from Herbert Leonhardt and Hartmut Schulze, who developed it during a hike in the Ore Mountains. “The first family scooter meeting took place in the Erzgebirge in 2010,” remembers Marcus Schulze, who has a weekend house near Lindthal and is fond of the region. The community is also intended to be promoted through the exchange of classic car enthusiasts.

Nostalgic family afternoon

A colorful program is planned for the entire family at Waldbad Crinitz. Here the forest pool support association will spoil guests with waffles, coffee, cake, ice cream and refreshing drinks. In 2019, classic car fans were also warmly welcomed and were able to fortify themselves with coffee and cake. This uncomplicated togetherness and shared passion for old scooters not only attracts older generations; Schulze's sons, Curt (22) and Fritz (15), are also active and are bringing a breath of fresh air to the classic car community.

The participants, mostly over 50 years old, come from the Erzgebirge, Leipzig and Dresden, among others. Nevertheless, the younger participants like Curt, who has already restored four scooters, and Fritz, who is interested in his grandfather's old scooter, are also actively involved. Here you can meet like-minded people and exchange stories and tips about the well-kept treasures.
