Naked woman causes a stir in Prenzlau: police inform!

In Prenzlau, a special sightseeing tour causes excitement: an unclothed female walks through the city and sparks some lively conversations among passers-by. She is only dressed in a large shopping bag and a headband, sometimes in sneakers, sometimes in sandals. Photos and a video of this extraordinary sight have been on social networks since last week.

The Uckermark police station has taken note of the incidents. According to Roland Kamenz from the East Police Department, it may be a health emergency for the woman. A ruling by the Merzig District Court confirms this: A tenant lounging around in the garden was not a reason for termination as there was no disturbance of the peace in the house. Naked hiking is also possible, but heavily frequented routes should be avoided so as not to cause nuisance. However, on certain occasions, such as naked cycling, the jurisdiction can react sensitively and impose bans, explains the Attorney information.

Public nudity and its pitfalls

The public's gaze is not always welcome. According to Section 118 OWiG, nudity in public can be classified as “nuisance to the general public” and can lead to fines if there is no sexual motive. Exhibitionistic acts that occur for sexual pleasure are to be considered a criminal offense. However, there was no evidence of such incidents in Prenzlau.
