Cultural summer 2025 starts with harp sounds in Hohenlychen!

Hohenlychen, Deutschland - In Hohenlychen something is happening! On June 14, 2025, the Jeanine Vahldiek Band the cultural summer. At 7 p.m., the band's sonorous tones, which has been active since 2009, invite you to the magnificent Helenkapelle. Here the “Good mood tour 2025” program is presented, which combines harp, percussion instruments, ukulele and even Hawaiigitar in a refreshing melodies. The musicians, Jeanine Vahldiek and Steffen Haß, are committed to reggae, pop and jazz with their sounds, and promise an evening that will put the listeners in a happy mood. Admission is free, but donations are welcome to support the renovation and preservation of the chapel.

The Helenkapelle has a long history. It was built in 1904 as an institutional chapel of the former Hohenlychen healing sites and originally served to offer children who suffered from tuberculosis a place of recovery. At that time, Germany was under Kaiser Wilhelm II, and the chapel was created with the intention of giving a new hope for a good 500 children in summer and 300 in winter. The architectural design comes from the architects Hakenholz and Brandes from Hanover, and the construction was inaugurated on October 22, 1904, the birthday of Empress Auguste Viktoria.
