Prignitz inspires at the Green Week: Discover culinary treasures!

What a festive hustle and bustle in Berlin! The Green Week is once again in all its glory this year and is attracting numerous visitors to the capital. The important trade fair for agriculture, food and horticulture will take place from January 16th to 25th in the exhibition halls at the radio tower. A showcase of the culinary and tourist highlights from Prignitz is the centerpiece in the Brandenburg Hall 21a. Exhibitors from gastronomy and agriculture also present themselves here and want to make the region attractive to guests.

The Gans Feinbrand Manufaktur from Klein Gottschow is particularly popular and presented its new creations, such as the popular aperitif “Norderitivo”, on “Prignitz Day”. This event took place on January 17th and was accompanied by Brandenburg's Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke and Agriculture Minister Hanka Mittelstädt, who friendly visited the numerous exhibitors. A highlight of the stage program were the most important upcoming major events in Prignitz. These include the State Garden Show in Wittenberge 2027, the 770th anniversary of the city of Pritzwalk this year and the street art festival “PerleBÄM!” in Perleberg.

Diverse offers and exciting projects

Particular attention was paid to the “Prignitz ambassadors”, who represent 13 citizens and were allowed to travel to Berlin on a coach. They were also generously treated to admission tickets and a packed lunch at the trade fair. At the trade fair stand, the “Prignitz 2040” project presented its visions of the future and invited trade fair visitors to virtually immerse themselves in the enchanting Prignitz landscape using VR glasses and a cargo bike.

There was also a quiz where you could win an overnight stay at the picturesque oil mill. The Prignitz not only shows itself in the best light, but also brings with it a variety of culinary delicacies: from today until January 21st, guests are offered the “Wild Sausage” from the Müller butcher shop in Berge and from January 22nd to 23rd the specialties from Dahses Gasthaus in Glövzin and the beekeeping shop from Kuhberg in Putlitz. To round things off, the Elbtal Alpacas from Breese invite you to try them out on January 24th and 25th.

A celebration of regional products

This year's Green Week is not only the 100th edition, but also an excellent springboard for companies from the Ostprignitz-Ruppin and Prignitz districts that are pushing themselves to the fore with their regional products. The Neuruppin company “Dreistern” is presenting its delicious canned goods at stand 148, while “Homemade” from Karstedtshof offers sustainable and regional sausage products.

“The demand for regional products is growing,” explains Eva Paulus from “Homemade”, whose salami is currently sold for 13 euros per piece. The Gans Feinbrand Manufaktur, run by Robert Wacker, is also very popular. Visitors can try and buy the products directly on site, such as a bottle of “Norderitivo” for 15 euros. This great demand shows that people are increasingly placing greater value on regional quality.

Green Week is more than just a trade fair - it is a beacon for the region's economic development. Two thirds of the world's major trade fairs take place in Germany and not only ensure a lot of visitor interest, but also boost the image of the individual regions. The trade fair industry secures around 250,000 jobs and has a positive impact on the entire economy. The Prignitz in Berlin impressively demonstrates how diverse and lively rural life can be.

For everyone who wants to visit the trade fair in the coming days, there are enough reasons to flock to Brandenburg Hall 21a and be inspired by the diversity of Prignitz. The enjoyment begins at the trade fair – a warm welcome to all visitors!
