There will be extensive construction sites in Prignitz in 2026 that will affect both traffic and the region's infrastructure. Specifically, the B103 is involved in several construction phases, with work continuing between the L155 state road and Meyenburg and between Gantikow and Vehlow. The roadways will be renewed and cycle paths will be created. The work should be completed by the end of 2026 and enable new, modern transport connections.
The current status of theB103 in the Gantikow area, which is almost finished. From December 22, 2025, the connection to Kyritz via the B103 can be used again, which is a relief for residents. Nevertheless, the route between Gantikow and Vehlow will remain fully closed until January 11, 2026 in order to complete the remaining work. This renovation includes, among other things, the renewal of the roadway and the improvement of drainage by installing trenches such as the Brandenburg state government reported.
Renovation costs and measures
The A24, which has been renovated between Meyenburg and Pritzwalk in the direction of Hamburg since September 2025, also brings changes. Here, 7.8 kilometers of the roadway are affected, and with investments of around 15.7 million euros, the work is expected to last until April 2026.
But it's not just the federal highways that are in focus. The Prignitz district is also planning four measures on district roads with a total cost of around 5.6 million euros, a large part of which will be covered by funding. This work affects a total of 6,510 meters of road, but there is currently no exact date as the funding notices are still pending.
