Discover angels: Take part in the EKM summer campaign 2025!

Bad Wilsnack, Deutschland - From June 21, 2025 it says: "The angel track"! The Evangelical Church in Central Germany (EKMD) starts its summer campaign, which is all about heavenly beings. The aim of the campaign is to discover angels in churches and capture in a series of photos. Whether sculptures, paintings or reliefs - the participants are called to send impressive shots of angels. These photos are not only published on the EKMD website, but also on their social media channels. If you have a good eye, you can participate and put your own parish in the right light. To take part in this action, the submitted photos should either be available in portrait or landscape format, with an image quality of at least 300 dpi. Close shots are particularly desirable. In order to round off the submission, the organizers need the name of the photographer, information about the image rights and details on the origin of the angels recorded. An optional background to the church can also be settled. The photos can be submitted until the end of the campaign in September, and the best recordings will be presented in the EKMD October issue. There is also an appealing postcard with an angel photo gallery in the EKM shop, which will certainly be sold out quickly.

The EKMD campaign is not the only opportunity for photography lovers in 2025. The Evangelical Foundation for the Preserving of Church Monuments (Kiba Foundation) organizes a photo competition at the same time, in which church pictures from all over Germany are sought. Here the closing date is already on May 15, 2025. Participants can submit up to five photos that clearly reflect on the topic "Evangelical Church in Germany". The prize money is also remarkable: 300 euros for first place, 200 euros for the second and 100 euros for third place. The winning photo is even shown in the 2026 KIBA church calendar. It is also worth taking a look at another exciting competition that addresses the beauty and emotional value of Protestant churches in Germany.
