Art, music and fairy tales: festive weekend in OPR from July 18th to 20th!
A packed weekend is coming up in Ostprignitz-Ruppin! On July 18, 19 and 20, 2025, a colorful program for young and old will be offered in numerous locations. If you enjoy culture, music and of course objects to marvel at, this is the right place for you. The festivities begin on Friday, July 18th.
In new passion The “Herzhaftes” meeting café in Barsikow will be a meeting place for social gatherings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. In Freyenstein, the doll museum with its summer exhibition “Surf & Sun – The Bears on Summer Vacation” will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Neuruppin invites you to a weekly fresh market on the school square from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by fontane painting for beginners in the temple garden from 10:30 a.m. A creative afternoon is offered here, but registration is required by July 16th. Anyone interested in art should not miss the exhibition “Neuruppin: Home in Pictures” in the monastery church, which can be discovered from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Music and entertainment
On Friday evening from 5 p.m. there will be a mini concert with organ music in the monastery church, and anyone who would like to enjoy the atmosphere is welcome to ask for a donation. On the same evening there will be a concert with Kraemer & Tschirpke in Neustadt, which is already sold out, in Olaf's workshop at 7 p.m. Things are also picking up in Rheinsberg: The cabaret with Gisela Oechelhaeuser will start at the Musikbrennerei at 7:30 p.m.
The Saturday mix has just as much in store. Visitors in Christdorf can listen to a “Bagpipes & Scottish Rock” concert or delight the children with a colorful program and live music at the Burgfest in Burg from 2 p.m. The weekly fresh market and the meadow flea market at Hangar-312 are on the program in Neuruppin. A highlight will be the Neptune Festival in Freyenstein, starting at 2 p.m., and in Kyritz, all lovers of church music can expect a musical sound system as part of the 34th Kyritzer Kirchenmusiken at 4 p.m.
Cultural events for the whole family
Sunday continues with creative offers. A castle festival will kick off in Goldbeck at 2 p.m. In Kyritz, guests can experience the play “Shakespeare's Complete Works – Slightly Abridged” in the monastery garden at 3 p.m. as well as a fairy tale reading in the fairy tale forest. For the children, Netzeband is putting on the family play “Hansel and Gretel” at 3 p.m. in the Gutspark, which is available from 23 euros. In Wustrau there is a museum tour at the Brandenburg-Prussian Museum at 11 a.m., which is suitable for history lovers young and old.
For the more adventurous there is even the option of one Skydive with climb up to 4,000 m altitude. Here you float out of the plane on a tandem master and experience a free fall of 50 seconds, followed by a parachute ride at an altitude of 1,500 m, which offers unforgettable views of the landscape.
