Diet of the future: Temnitz interviews citizens at the country area!
In the Temnitz office, something moves - in the truest sense of the word, because the project "Better at the Temnitz" has set itself the task of revolutionizing the food supply in the region. The Robert Bosch Foundation is promoting this project, which will be presented from June 14th to 15th during the Brandenburg country area in Katerbow and at the Hoffest in Rohrlack. The thoughts on the healthier, more climate -friendly and sustainable nutrition should be brought to the fore.
A central element of the event will be a survey aimed at visitors. The questions revolve around the importance of growing regional food, the quality of food in daycare centers, schools and other public institutions as well as the willingness to spend a little more money on good food. Christina Zahn, spokeswoman for the Temnitz office, explained that this survey does not represent a competition for the previous food supplier "everyone menu", but rather is intended as the first participation procedure.
The Temnitz burger and regional products
A highlight of the country area will be the newly developed "Temnitz-Burger", which was created in collaboration with top chef Matthias Kleber and the regional initiative Prignitz-Ruppin. Another goal of the event is to raise awareness of the importance of regional products. A visit to Hope in Rohrlack not only offers culinary delights, but also fun and fun as well as tours and baking courses for young and old.
The “PRIGNITZ-RUPIN ÖMODODOLDELDREGION” project, which starts at the same time in June, aims to network local companies and farm shops with a new transport network. Both initiatives are scheduled until the end of 2026 and should focus on the need for regional foods.
The importance of community catering
But the topic goes far beyond local events. According to the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, community catering plays a key role for healthy and sustainable nutrition. Around 40 million portions are spent here every day, and numerous people benefit from this form of meals in daycare centers, schools and companies. The possibility of making healthy and sustainable food attractive is essential to positively influence future nutritional styles.
Nevertheless, providers face challenges such as limited financial means and complex procurement processes. Sustainable community catering should therefore meet DGE quality standards and network the participants more to promote ecological production methods. Nudging, the targeted initiative to healthy decisions, is another important aspect to optimize business models in daycare centers and other institutions. This idea could decisively promote acceptance and success of healthy meals.
As part of the survey in Temnitz, citizens have the opportunity to express their opinion and actively participate in the design of future food supply. A digital survey or flyer can be submitted by June 30th. It is clear: the entire region is invited to comment on this important topic and to contribute its part to a healthier future.
