U21 European Championship: Germany celebrates after a 4-2 win against the Czech Republic!

Germany's U21 national team celebrated a remarkable triumph in the European Championship in Slovakia. With an impressive 4-2 win over the Czech Republic, the team qualified early for the quarter-finals. The tournament runs from June 11th to 28th and the German team was able to score important points with this victory. The decisive battle took place in Dunajská Streda, around 50 kilometers south of Bratislava.

The young players under coach Toni Di Salvo showed their best side. Di Salvo fielded the same starting XI as in the first game, which ended in a 3-0 win against Slovenia. Before the game it was clear: a win was enough to secure a place in the knockout rounds after England and Slovenia had previously only drawn 0-0.

A remarkable victory

In this exciting duel, Nick Woltemade provided the necessary fire on the pitch. In the 22nd minute, a strange moment happened to him: he lost his shoe, which accidentally hit the referee. But Woltemade didn't let that bother him. In the 34th minute he replaced Nicolo Tresoldi, who took the lead. Just a few minutes later, in the 41st minute, Paul Nebel increased the score to 2-0 after another nice pass from Woltemade.

Woltemade also shone in the second half. In the 54th minute he headed in a cross from Rocco Reitz to make it 3-0. Eric Martel joined this hunt for goals and increased the score to 4-0 in the 60th minute. However, the German team then let up and conceded two goals, which brought the Czech Republic to 2:4. Despite this weak phase, Germany managed to gain the advantage over time and is now in the quarter-finals. There they could face Spain or Italy, who have also qualified.

A Shining Hero: Woltemade

Nick Woltemade, who also scored three goals in the first game against Slovenia, is considered by many to be the standout player of the tournament. He was already the match winner in the 3-0 win against Slovenia and caused a stir with his actions. Although Woltemade had no problems at the start, as he impressed through the Nations League despite arriving late, the numbers speak for themselves: his performances are making his career rise steeply. He recently won the cup with the help of VfB Stuttgart and has now been promoted to senior national team.

For the U21 national team, the group stage ends with a tricky clash against defending champions England, while their next opponent in the quarter-finals will be decided after Wednesday's game. The mood in the team is good and the players are motivated to continue giving their best.

This shows once again how important such tournaments are in giving young talents the opportunity to prove themselves on the big stage. Spectators can eagerly await the further games of the German team, who are determined to give their all and continue to pursue their dream of winning the title.

Information about other young talents is also available from the senior national team, which is also preparing for the home European Championships in Thuringia. Two U21 players, Brajan Gruda and Rocco Reitz, are currently taking part in training. Coach Julian Nagelsmann gives young players the chance to draw attention to themselves in the senior team and we will certainly hear a lot about this in the near future.

The U21 national team has definitely shown that it has what it takes to be successful in the European Championship. A nice look at the upcoming games!
