Energie Cottbus is celebrating: 4:2 in the friendly against Altglienicke!
What an exciting day for the fans of FC Energie Cottbus! On July 4, 2025, the team won its fourth test match of summer preparation against VSG Altglienicke. With a final score of 4:2, they entered the club's history books after the game took place at the SV Dissenchen sports facility in Cottbus, where the kick-off sounded at 5:00 p.m. The first half ended in a 1-1 draw after Erik Tallig equalized in the 35th minute after Patrick Kapp gave Altglienicker the lead in the 33rd minute. However, Cottbus proved to be much more accurate in the second half and scored three goals in just six minutes.
The shooters were Justin Butler in the 52nd minute, Theo Ogbidi in the 55th minute and Erik Engelhardt in the 58th minute. The Cottbus team still had a small downside when VSG Altglienicke was able to reduce the lead to 4-2 in the 79th minute due to a mistake by Cottbus keeper Elias Bethke. Before this encounter, Cottbus had already put together a strong team that consisted of both newcomers and homegrown players. Hajrulla came close to an early goal in the 10th minute, but was denied.
Test match series shows clear progress
The game against Altglienicke was just one of many test games that the team played in this preparation. FC Energie Cottbus continued an impressive series in June. In the previous test matches, the team impressively scored a total of 59 goals. Already on June 25th there was a 25:0 win against Wacker Schönwalde, followed by a 26:0 against SpVgg Finsterwalde and an 8:0 against Blau-Weiß Wittichenau. These pleasing results testify to the team's accuracy and the perfect integration of the new additions into the team. Players like Can Moustfa and Jannis Boziaris were particularly noticeable and caused a lot of danger in front of the opponent's goal.
But back to the friendly against Altglienicke: Cottbus made complete changes except for the goalkeeper in the second half, which brought a breath of fresh air into the game. It will be interesting to see how the team performs in the next test matches. The next duel against TSG Neustrelitz is on the program next July 5th. In a time full of positive developments and growing anticipation for the coming season, which begins on August 2nd or 3rd against 1. FC Saarbrücken, it remains to be seen how the Cottbus team will develop further.

With solid preparation and recent successes, the team is well prepared to get off to a good start in the 3rd league. In addition, the test match against Altglienicke will be broadcast live in a free stream on the YouTube channel “Energie-TV”, which shows that the club also maintains contact with its fans and thinks in a modern way.
