Cottbus reaches aviation milestone: Quality certified!

There has recently been significant progress in aviation research in Cottbus. CHESCO GmbH has successfully met international quality requirements for aviation research, such as Niederlausitz Current reported. This enables the company to facilitate collaboration with aviation partners and position itself internationally as a competent player.

The certification, which was granted one year after the new research factory in Cottbus went into operation, is based on the quality management system according to DIN EN 9100. This system was developed specifically for safety-relevant areas such as aviation and is based on ISO 9001. TÜV NORD CERT GmbH carried out the test and determined that all necessary conditions for certification were met.

Sustainability in focus

Another advantage of CHESCO GmbH is its strong focus on environmentally friendly drive technologies that are to be developed for aircraft, trains, commercial vehicles and ships. Up to 400 employees are planned at the Cottbus site to research and develop innovative drive systems. The project sponsor of the research work is the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, of which CHESCO GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary.

The development of low-emission technologies is of utmost importance in the region. DIN EN 9100 not only regulates process design, but also risk management and product documentation in the aviation industry and is of crucial importance for certification. These standards were developed in close collaboration with the BTU to ensure the highest quality in research.

International standards and industry-wide recognition

Recognition of these standards is essential to gain a foothold in the aerospace industry. As well as TÜV emphasizes, compliance with the AS 9100, 9110 and 9120 standards is essential to secure a place on the international market. These standards, developed by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG), guarantee that companies like CHESCO meet the highest standards.

Providers like SGS provide certification services that help companies manage their respective quality management systems and promote continuous improvement. In this way, quality is not only guaranteed, but also strengthened globally.

CHESCO GmbH's progress marks an important step for aviation research in Cottbus and underlines the determination to create a sustainable and innovative future in technology development.
