The Erkner region is looking forward to the upcoming jazz and blues festival with great anticipation. The third edition of the JBE Festival will take place on September 19, 2025 in the Citizens' Hall of the town hall. Music lovers were able to experience the first concert with the talented Blume brothers back in 2011. The collaboration between the 425 Kultur Erkner e.V. association and the musicians has developed into a permanent fixture over the years and promises to be an unforgettable event again.
The musical entry opens at 6:00 p.m. and offers a distinctive atmosphere with a grand piano and drums. For all jazz fans, tickets are available in the Erkner Local History Museum and in the “Room with a View”. Particularly noteworthy is the second day of the festival, which begins at 11:00 a.m. and features a jazz duo from Heilbronn: Derzenbach on the saxophone and Fuchs on the bass are three-time German rock and pop award winners and will rock the stage accordingly.
Offspring and great emotions
As the festival progresses, the younger generation of musicians will be presented. Visitors can look forward to 12-year-old Leander Kossatz on the saxophone and 13-year-old Edward Riehm on the trumpet, who are known under the name YOUNG JAZZ BRASS. They show that jazz is lively and exciting even at a young age.
Another highlight of the festival will be the band TNT from Woltersdorf, who will create a great atmosphere with their rhythm & blues and rock-n-roll from the 70s and 80s. The festival will culminate at 4:00 p.m. with the STEAMROLLER BLUESBAND, led by the talented brothers Alexander and Maximilian Blume. Their program "Thank you! Nat and Cannonball" pays tribute to the legendary Adderley brothers, fathers of soul and funk jazz, and awaits listeners with a mixture of blues and boogie.
