Beeskow starts with Incubator Village and supports 40 new start-ups!
A new hotspot for innovations in Brandenburg: The “Incubator Village” has opened its doors in Beeskow. The newly founded innovation and start-up center is one of a total of six new start-up centers that the state of Brandenburg is promoting to support young companies with fresh ideas. According to the information from rbb24 The main thing is to offer founders space, support and valuable mentoring programs. In the coming years, up to 40 start-ups will find a home here that will focus on the areas of digitalization and sustainability.
The application phase is already underway and eight start-ups have announced themselves as the first participants. The exciting projects include initiatives for forest conversion in the Oder-Spree district and concepts for sustainable boat building. The founders not only receive support in finding investors, but also help in developing financing strategies and testing their products for market suitability.
A place to learn and grow
How n-tv reports, the center is operated by Valuedfriends Innovation GmbH. Here, start-up founders can take part in six-month programs that offer mentoring, workshops and even mobile mini offices, also known as tiny spaces. The start-ups have access to a temporary “showroom” in the city center to present their products.
Economics Minister Daniel Keller (SPD) emphasized the importance of such initiatives. The support is not only focused on the start-ups in Beeskow, but is also offered to the five other centers in Brandenburg, including cities such as Cottbus and Potsdam. A total of around 17 million euros from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) will be invested in the centers by 2028.
Brandenburg as a founding location
The aim of the new centers is to strengthen the start-up ecosystem in Brandenburg and to profile the state as a leading location for innovative start-ups. A press release from BrandenburgESF points out that cross-industry help is offered to specifically support start-up teams in growth phases.
With this initiative, Brandenburg is responding to the increasing need for support for technology-oriented start-ups. The Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg (ILB) not only offers development loans and grants, but also venture capital for founders. The newly launched fund of 100 million euros in 2023 underlines the ambitions to further stimulate start-up activity in the region.
In summary, one thing is certain: The “Incubator Village” will be an important part of Brandenburg's future by promoting innovative ideas and helping start-ups on the path to success. The coming months will show what potential the new companies can develop and how they will contribute to the region's economic development.
