Thanks to the massive extinguishing attack using heavy breathing apparatus, the fire brigade was able to prevent the flames from spreading to surrounding buildings, but the cause of the fire currently remains unclear. The police have started an investigation and are securing the site extensively. Fortunately, there have been no injuries so far.
Previous fire incidents
But that wasn't the only fire that affected the region in recent weeks. On June 22, 2025, a large-scale field fire broke out on the L33 state road in Hönow, causing thick smoke that was visible as far as the A10 motorway. Around 40,000 square meters of fields were in flames, and the flames spread quickly, helped by the persistent drought and high temperatures.
