Glowing tractors: Advent lights ride brings Christmas magic to Prenzlau
The festive season is just around the corner, and things will be particularly atmospheric in the Uckermark on November 29th. Then the popular candle ride of the Uckermark Farmers' Association starts, which attracts numerous tractor fans and Advent lovers every year. A magical route awaits the participants, which begins at 4 p.m. at the McDonald's parking lot in Prenzlau and leads via Baumgarten, Kleptow and Klockow to Göritz. The agricultural vehicles are festively decorated with lights, spreading a true Advent feeling on the roads of the region. As the SVZ reported that the organizers are expecting a large crowd of onlookers who can watch for free.
The light journey is more than just a dazzling spectacle. It is intended to give the people in the region a good feeling and a pre-Christmas warmth. “We want to connect places and people along the route,” said the organizers. If you want to decorate your vehicle in a colorful way, you can get creative and attach fairy lights, figures or shining stars. Registration for participants was open until November 21st, so the event could be worth taking a look at even if you're not an active driver.
Pre-Christmas traditions
This event takes place at a time when the anticipation of Christmas is palpable. Christmas markets across Germany attract millions of visitors. From small village festivals to large city events, there is something for everyone like this ADAC shows. Markets vary regionally, and many of them can offer great highlights. For example, the Tegernsee Advent magic takes place from November 29th to December 21st or the famous Dresden Striezelmarkt, which is open this year from November 26th to December 24th.
In the Uckermark, another light trip will also be organized on December 7th, starting at the McDonald's parking lot in Prenzlau. This leads past the Christmas market and through various villages to the Christmas market in Hetzdorf. The focus here is on community building and the event has no political concerns. The farmers once again show their good hand for a great event that inspires young and old.
