Wittenberge is flourishing: New projects for quality of life and green spaces!
There is news in Wittenberge that brings a breath of fresh air into the city. A few days ago a new Tic-Tac-Toe game was inaugurated at Bahnstrasse 34, donated by Katja and Stefan Evertz. Mayor Oliver Hermann was on site at the inauguration on October 23rd and thanked the generous donors. With a total budget of around 67,000 euros, which is financed by a funding program and the city's own contribution, further game elements such as seating rings and a memory game are also being planned.
But that's not all Wittenberge has to offer! On the same day, the members of the Rotary Club of Wittstock handed over 220 liters of apple juice to the Millipede Daycare Center in Pritzwalk. The apples come from a club member's meadow. A total of 1.5 tons of fruit were collected and pressed in the cider factory. A nice activity that will certainly delight the children!
Health and educational offerings
There are also some important events on the program in November. On November 5th, the Senior Citizens' Advisory Board invites you to an information afternoon about legal care in Perleberg. Doris Rosenbaum will host the event and participation is free, although registration is required. This offers a good opportunity for interested citizens to find out about important topics relating to statutory care.
On November 4th, an information event on the mobility concept will also take place in the Wittenberge town hall, in which citizens can actively participate. This event is part of the broad citizen participation that is central to the development of Wittenberg.
A look into the future
The anticipation for the upcoming State Garden Show in 2027 is growing. Wittenberge will host the eighth Brandenburg State Garden Show, an event that will enrich not only the city but also the region. Mayor Dr. Oliver Hermann highlights the potential and recognition of the state government for Wittenberge. The garden show follows the guiding principle of sustainable urban development and aims to increase the quality of life of citizens. Among other things, the Clara Zetkin Park and the Innovation Quarter on Külzberg are planned as central areas of the exhibition. The focus is on the development and maintenance of inner-city green spaces, which is also in line with the tasks and goals of the Federal Garden Shows, as set out by the Federal Garden Show be defined.
The citizens of Wittenberg are invited to take part in the planning. Studies and competitions have already been scheduled for 2024, in which citizens will be able to provide information and make suggestions for design.
Social and cultural activities
To celebrate the city's social commitment, the Glücksmomente nursing and care service, which celebrated its tenth anniversary, was also recognized. With over 100 employees, this service plays an important role in the region's healthcare system and was honored by Mayor Hermann.
The weekly view is rounded off by various events in the coming weeks, such as the flea market in Perleberg on November 8th and the children's film festival, which will attract numerous young visitors at the same time. Such initiatives contribute to the community and cultural preservation in Wittenberge.
In summary, Wittenberge is a place where community, commitment and shaping the future go hand in hand. Stay tuned for further developments in this lively city!
