August 2011 The "Drei-Kirchen tour" takes place in Groß Gottschow. Almost 40 participants set out by bike or car to get to know the different churches and their fascinating history. The event was organized by Pastor Matthias Frenzel and not only offered the participants interesting insights, but also a quiz questionnaire with a great main prize: a bottle of red wine. The event rounded off.
A church that is particularly in focus is the Groß Gottschower Church, which is currently being painted by the Pritzwalker painting company "Color Vision". In the past two decades, proud 110,000 euros have been invested in renovation work, which included the elimination of sponge, the drying of the walls, the establishment of a new roof and the renovation of the organ and the apse. The church has an exciting story; It was last changed comprehensively in 1890.
a unique view of historical buildings
The Rosenhagener and the Spiegelhagen Church, both of which have their own character and historical importance, are particularly impressive. The Rosenhagen church, a field stone hall building from the 2nd half of the 14th century, experienced various changes over the years. The tower attachment had to be demolished in the 70s due to dilapidation, but after the turn, a new bell tower was built. In the Spiegelhagen church from 1853 there is still the boarded west tower of 1620, the only preserved part of the previous building. The church trip in Prignitz not only brings people together, but also promotes awareness of the rich history and the architectural treasures of the region.
