Serious accident in Neuruppin: onlookers hinder rescue workers!
In Neuruppin there was a serious traffic accident on Fehrbelliner Straße in the direction of Treskow on November 5, 2025 at around 10 p.m. An Audi A5 crashed into a tree at high speed, seriously injuring the 19-year-old passenger of the vehicle. The driver, whose breath alcohol test showed a level of 0.9 per mille, lost control of the vehicle after driving over a traffic island.
The passenger remained trapped in the vehicle because the tree was pushed into the car by the impact. The rescue work was difficult and lasted over an hour because numerous onlookers, also known as gawkers, disturbed the emergency services. This malfunction is a recurring problem in accidents and makes the work of the fire and rescue services significantly more difficult.
Deployment of rescue workers
The fire department was finally able to free the passenger and, after stabilizing her, took her to the hospital. The driver was also taken to hospital, although the severity of his injuries remained unclear. In order to investigate the accident in more detail, an expert from Dekra was called in.
On instructions from the public prosecutor's office, the vehicle was confiscated while Fehrbelliner Straße was completely closed for around three hours. The road was then only accessible on one side for another two hours before it was fully reopened at 2:20 a.m. Accidents like this are tragic and show how dangerous driving under the influence of alcohol can be.
In a country as beautiful as Brandenburg, which has a lot to offer - including in the area of leisure activities and enjoyment of nature - safety on the roads should be the top priority. Especially in times when many people are discovering nature as a place to relax, it is important to act responsibly and be aware of your own limits.
It is essential for drivers and especially for the younger generations to be aware of the risks that driving under the influence of alcohol entails. Anyone who wants to enjoy freedom on our roads should always do so safely and responsibly.
