Neuruppin has big plans: a new training and further education center for teachers is being built in the city. The opening is planned for 2026. The new building will be built on the site of the state authority center on Fehrbelliner Straße and is intended to become a central training center for prospective teachers from the districts of Ostprignitz-Ruppin, Prignitz, Oberhavel and Havelland. A long road back to teacher training

The restoration of a teacher training location in Neuruppin is a clear benefit for the region's educational offerings. After the closure of the previous teacher training college in 2008, which led to a significant shortage of trainees, parents, teacher representatives and politicians argued loudly for the reopening of teacher training. These demands were taken up in 2023 by the then Education Minister Britta Ernst, who held out the prospect of a return to teacher training in Neuruppin.
