Serious accident on A10: rescue helicopter in use!
On Thursday afternoon, June 19, a serious accident occurred on the A10 between the Cross of Oranienburg and the Oberkrämer exit. Around 1:45 p.m., two vehicles with Hamburg license plates lost control for the reason that has so far been unknown and slipped off the road. This was reported by the Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung here .
According to initial knowledge, the two cars, an Audi and a Seat, crashed against the right guardrail before they came to a standstill on an embankment. There were two people in one of the vehicles, while in the other a passenger and a dog were involved. Unfortunately, three people were injured in this accident. Two of them had to be brought to hospitals with rescue helicopters, while the severity of their injuries has so far remained unclear. Interestingly, the dog survived the shock of the accident unscathed and was taken into care by the fire brigade, as was underlined in the report of TAG24 here .

The police, several ambulances and emergency doctors were on site to supply the injured road users as quickly as possible. The fire brigade also supported first -time medical care and secured the scene of the accident. Despite the provision of hydraulic rescue devices, their use was not necessary. The A10 in the direction of Hamburg had to be closed during the rescue and recovery work, which led to significant traffic disruptions. Road users were asked to bypass the accident site, and there was a backlog that extended the journey time by up to 30 minutes.Both vehicles were no longer ready to drive and had to be towed. So far, no information on the amount of property damage is known. The police are working intensively to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident and secure the traces for reconstruction of the course. The national statistics on traffic accidents will also be based on the evaluations of this incident.
