New Christmas miracle in Oberhavel: Baby Noor is here!
Christmas brings not only gifts and festive cheer, but also new life into our community. Today, December 24th, 2025, the Christmas baby Noor Student was born in the Oranienburg Hospital. At 6:44 a.m. the time had come: Noor weighed 3,334 grams when he was born and measured 50 centimeters. The little miracle's head circumference was 33 centimeters. With mom Joane and dad Pawab Ahmad, the family now has another member - for Joane it is the second child, and both mother and child are doing well.
The birth was uncomplicated and only lasted five hours. The family was looked after by the doctor on duty, Dilava Sama, who has been working in Oranienburg since 2020, as well as by the midwife Sabine Lenz and the doctor Noura Souayah. A joyful moment, accompanied by good care, in a delivery room that currently remains empty as no further births are predicted on Christmas Eve.
Christmas Babies: A Rare Sight
In Germany, traditionally the fewest children are born on Christmas Eve and the Christmas holidays. Statistics confirm this: Over the last ten years, an average of only 1,470 babies were born on December 24th. Holidays also influence birth rates, as many parents often choose a regular working day due to the ability to plan births. In comparison, December 25, 2024, last year's Christmas Day, was one of the lowest birth rates in the last ten years with only 1,230 births.
The birth rate is particularly lower in winter; In summer, however, the numbers increase significantly. September 21st holds the top spot in terms of birth rate with an average of 2,385 newborns. The reasons are varied: including the high cesarean section rate, which at 32.6 percent was also high in 2023.
Another Christmas baby in Schwäbisch Hall
A little Christmas baby was also born in Schwäbisch Hall. Mia Agnes was born on December 24, 2024 at 3:04 a.m. in the Diak Clinic, the first child of Jasmin and Philipp Kraft from Bühlertann-Fronrot. With a weight of 3100 grams and a height of 53 centimeters, the little family delights their grandparents in Westheim and Bühlertann. The parents also wish them a Merry Christmas.
The arrival of babies at Christmas is a very special gift. Whether in Brandenburg or in Schwäbisch Hall, the light of the little miracles bathes the holidays in a warm glow. We congratulate the new families and wish you happy holidays!
